The Answer That Stopped Me in My Tracks

My husband went to the supermarket last week. Nothing unusual — he always volunteers when I’m tired. This time, I asked him to pick up something a little more complicated:
sanitary pads.

I didn’t show him the package.
I didn’t send a picture.
I didn’t explain anything.
I just said, “Grab the ones I use.”

When he came back, he handed me the exact brand, size, absorbency, and color I always buy. Not even close — the exact ones.

I stared at him and asked,
“How did you know I use these?”

He shrugged like it was obvious and said:

“Because I pay attention to you.”

And in that moment, it hit me:

It’s not about the pads.
It’s not about the shopping trip.
It’s about the quiet ways someone shows love without being asked.
The little details they notice.
The things they remember even when you think they don’t.

Sometimes love isn’t loud.
Sometimes it’s just someone standing in the aisle of a supermarket…
trying to make sure they bring home the thing that makes your life easier.
