‘Dynasty’ and ‘The Paper Chase’ Actor Passes Away at 98

Beloved actress Betty Harford, best known as the Carrington family’s loyal cook on Dynasty, has died at 98 in Santa Barbara, California. Her son Chris confirmed she “died peacefully” and is survived by her grandsons.

Throughout her long career, Harford became a familiar face on American television, known for bringing “warmth and humor to every role.” She portrayed strong, witty women in an era when such characters were rare, earning admiration from fans who grew up watching 1980s prime-time dramas.

Her versatility shone in classics like The Twilight Zone, Gunsmoke, and Alfred Hitchcock Presents. In the late 1970s, she charmed audiences as Mrs. Nottingham in The Paper Chase, praised for bringing “depth and intelligence” to the role.

On the big screen, she appeared in Spartacus and Inside Daisy Clover, holding her own alongside Hollywood legends.
